The cave, made of cardboard, wood and tree branches, manifests the holy city of #Bethlehem, which witnessed the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, and includes models representing the stages of Christmas.

According to Archimandrite Elias Habib, pastor of St. Elias Al-Ghaiour Greek Orthodox Church, "the completion of the cave took about 50 days of work and consumed about eight thousand paper plates and a large amount of wood and tree branches, and that the church is constructing it for the seventeenth year."

"The opening ceremony of the cave is a message to the whole world that Syria, which has triumphed over the enemies of humanity, was and will always be a land of love and peace, and the sources of light that came out to permeate the world."
